10 Encouraging Podcasts for the New Year

As the last post of January, I wanted to end on a light note. This past month has been a time of deep study and reflection. I want to take a step back from deep diving into God’s word and think about things that help us relax and rest in God. One thing I have come to enjoy in the past couple of months is podcasts and I wanted to share ten of my favorites.

In the last couple of months, I have struggled with migraines. During this time, I developed a love of podcasts. They are easy ways to keep God at the front of my mind even when I am in overwhelming pain and light sensitivity.

I think it is so important to put God first in all that we do and that includes our entertainment and all our media. As you go about your day if you need an infusion of Jesus, here are some of my personal favorites right now.

Podcasts

  1. She Found Joy on Apple Podcasts. I started listening to “She Found Joy” and from the first episode (God Stories part 1) that I listened to, I was hooked. These ladies are insightful and inspiring. I enjoyed hearing their insights and stories.
  • Daily Grace on Apple Podcasts The hosts Katie and Kristin are enthusiastic and passionate about the scriptures. I enjoy listening to them talk about Jesus, they made me feel excited just listening to their conversation about the scriptures.
  • Set Apart Podcast on Apple Podcasts I love Leslie Ludy in Set Apart Podcast. I have recently begun listening to her podcast. She spoke right to my heart, especially in the latest episode “What is missing in modern Christianity”.  I love her heart for helping woman grow in their faith.
  • Help Me Teach The Bible on Apple Podcasts This podcast is one I go to when I want to learn about a subject well and how to teach it to others. I started listening about 6 months back when I agreed to teach my first bible study at my local church. Such a great resource for learning the bible and how to teach it.
  • The Karen Kingsbury Show on Apple Podcasts I love this podcast. It is a new podcast. The first couple of episodes is Karen Kingsbury telling her story with the help of her husband. I just adore these two. Their story has funny moments along with true tender moments all filled with grace. If you need encouragement, then I recommend the Karen Kingsbury Show.
  • Blessed: Conversations on the Book of Revelation with Nancy Guthrie on Apple Podcasts. I enjoyed listening to Nancy and her guest’s commentary on the book of Revelation. So often people shy away from Revelation out of fear. Unsure of their abilities to teach and learn the book, Nancy tackles it head-on. She is the same host that does the “Help Me Teach the Bible” podcast. If you enjoy her style, you will surely love her in Blessed.
  • So Much More: Creating Space for God (Lectio Divina and Scripture Meditation) on Apple Podcasts This is a podcast that is great for meditating and having quiet time with God. If you need something to help you get into God’s presence, I recommend So much more. Jodie Niznik reads scripture passages and guides you through meditation on the scripture along with prayer. Her voice is soothing, and her guided meditation really helps me focus on God and come to a place of prayer.
  • The Unfolding on Apple Podcasts This is a podcast I first started listening to a couple years ago and recently began rediscovering. This show tells the faith stories of hundreds of ordinary people, who love and follow Jesus, even if not at first. It is a great encouragement to hear how God moves, the miracles He displays, and the faith of His people, it always gives me hope and strength to press on in the toughest of days.
  1. Voice of the Martyrs Radio – YouTube I love the Voice of the martyr’s radio and ministry. It is so important to remember the persecuted church, suffering for Christ. It is also a great encouragement to continue to pursue God regardless of our circumstances. This show inspires me to live out loud for Christ every day.

Throughout our Christian walk, we must glorify God in all things we do including the media we choose. I gave you ten of my favorite Podcasts and I encourage you to listen to these and others to help fill your day and mind with Jesus.

Thank you for joining me this month at More of Jesus Please. I look forward to the next month and all the months going forward. Comment below on your favorite podcast or anything else that is on your mind and I will see you again next week, God bless.
